The city of Montreal has a population of three million, and is one of the oldest cities in North America and one of the world’s largest French-speaking cities. While French is the predominant language, there is also a large English-speaking population. Many ethno-cultural communities also help maintain a vibrant, cosmopolitan, welcoming atmosphere. As a major tourist destination, the City of Montreal has much to offers: concerts, films, plays, art shows, sport events, and a 1000-acre mountain in the heart of the city, with parks, jogging, hiking trails and bike paths.

You can also retreat to the nearby Laurentian Mountains or the Eastern Townships. Once there, you can do everything from wind-surfing to skiing (alpine, as well as cross-country), or just explore the beautiful countryside. It’s all within an hour or two of driving from Montreal.
